Today I would like to talk about the future of GT-MP at its current state.
We, the GT-MP Team and me, always tried to steer the ship in the right direction and thus not only made decisions in this time, but also put a lot of time in the development of GT-MP from the beginning, and long time before that on other projects. I don't want to count the time I've put into this project so far, because I know all the nights without sleep and full of work invested were worth it.
Many do not understand how much time such a project demands when you are "all in" for it, especially with a real-life beside such a large project. All the server projects out there, that have been spending months creating the best possible gaming experience, have my full respect.
My priorities in life are changing and so it's time to move on and make room for a fresh breeze. GT-MP will be taken over by an yet undisclosed person and his team.
What does that mean for GT-MP?
When the time comes, within the next few weeks, I will transfer GT-MP with everything that belongs to it. I will retire and devote my time to other things. GT-MP will then be continued by a new person and his team.
Most changes will happen internally:
- The developer team will grow with people from the new team
- The active search for new developers will be pushed forward
- Development priorities for the future will be redefined
- The current team will remain as it is
- Task areas of the current team members will be extended
At this point I would like to sincerely thank all people who have shaped the last year for me and thus also GT-MP.
The GT-MP adventure will continue, even without me. But I'm sure all the changes will be great for the future of GT-MP.
